Theory Course for Interprovincial Red Seal Welder Certificate of Qualification Examination: Trainees should have a minimum of 3 years employment as a welder in the Welding Fabrication Industry, or have worked for 3 years at an associated trade and performed welding. This course pinpoints and focus’s on exam subjects that candidates will need to know before writing the theory exam in order to obtain a Red Seal Certificate of Qualification (Licence) in Welding.
Evaluation Method: Trainees are given a closed book theory test, which they must receive 70% to pass.

Maintenance
Level I: This course is designed to introduce trades
persons, technicians or apprentices in a multi skilled environment
to the proper techniques of welding and flame cutting. Trainees
will demonstrate new and or improved skills on either S.M.A.W.
(stick) or G.M.A.W. (mig) and flame cut mild steel in a safe
and efficient manner.
Evaluation Method: Trainees are given a
closed book theory test, which they must receive 70% to pass.

Maintenance Level
II: This course is for trainees that
have successfully completed level I, or have documented past
welding experience (ie welding tickets). Trainees will demonstrate
new or improved skills enabling them to weld in all positions
using the S.M.A.W. (stick) welding process, preparing them
for welding certification based on the plant welding procedure.
Evaluation Method: Trainees are given a
closed book theory test, which they must receive 70% to pass.
Trainee will perform a plate bend test in all positions based
on the company welding procedures.

Advanced Maintenance
Welding: This course is for trainees that have successfully
completed Level II or have documented on the job past welding
experience (ie. previous welding tickets or may have some
experience welding different alloys.) Trainees will upgrade
the skills by introducing them to cast iron, copper, and aluminum
maintenance welding.
Evaluation Method: Trainees are given a
closed book theory test, which they must receive 70% to pass.

Pressure Vessel
Welding: To prepare maintenance or production personnel
with extensive welding experience for pressure vessels branch
welding test, and updated skills in high pressure welding
techniques, and A.M.S.E. IX code requirements.

Trainee will also perform a practical T.S.S.A. welding test.

Tool & Die
Welding ( TIG): This course is designed to upgrade
the skills and knowledge of Toolmakers and Apprentices with
some previous welding experience relevant to the welding of
various tools and dies used in production.

Thermal Metal
Spray Welding: Thermal Metal Spray welding using oxy-fuel
gas and powdered metal is used in many industries such as
Petro-Chemical, Glass Making, Printing, and Pulp & Paper.
This process is used to prevent wear, rebuild worn pump shafts,
impellers, and bearing areas. Maintenance personnel trained
in the use of this process can reduce downtime and lower inventory
costs by applying spray welding techniques.
Trainees will be able to prepare surface areas, select the
correct alloyed metal powder type, select the correct Oxy-Fuel
Gas torch parameters, and execute correct spray welding techniques
on worn parts in a safe and efficient manner using both the
hot and cold thermal metal spray techniques.
Evaluation Method: Trainees are given a
closed book theory test, which they must receive 70% to pass.

Gas Tungsten
Arc Welding (TIG) Level I: This course is designed

Gas Metal Arc Welding
(Mig) Two day Course: This course is similar to the
five day Mig course although it is more intensive. Designed
for maintenance workers, shop supervisors, and production
personnel with previous welding experience to upgrade knowledge
and skills in the MIG welding variables, for shop welding.
This course will give them a better understanding of the Mig
process.

Gas Metal Arc Welding
(Preparatory course for C.W.B. test): This course will
upgrade knowledge and skills of MIG welding variables and
prepare shop welders who are about to take the CWB MIG test.
(There has been a history of high failure rate in C.W.B. Mig
tests, compared to stick test. This course is designed to
increase the success rate of testing. Weldtech has a 95% pass
rate on all CWB Mig testing.)
Evaluation Method: Trainees will be given
a C.W.B. test based on your company procedures. This course
is 80% Practical and 20% Theory.

for resistance welding formulated by the American Welding
Society referred to as the AWS C1.1 code for resistance welding.

& Inspection: Designed to give quality control
